General Volunteer Support
Volunteers play a vital and valuable role in the day-to-day operations of My Sisters' Place, furthering our mission on an ad hoc basis to support the work of our staff in the field and in our office locations. General volunteers work inside and outside of regular business hours and do not have direct client contact.
General volunteers must complete a mandatory 1-hour training that enriches the volunteers’ knowledge on our mission, guiding principles, and their role. Trainings are conducted via Zoom several times each year.
Projects may include:
- Organizing in-kind donations
- Putting together outreach materials and mailings
- Providing support in advance of our fundraising events
- Translating MSP outreach materials into other languages
- Assisting with research
- Creating a virtual gift card and/or in-kind item drive
- Attending community tabling events with MSP staff

Corporate, Community Groups, Faith-Based Groups, Scouting and School Projects:
Our strong partnerships with corporate and community groups support both MSP clients and team building efforts. Whether it is a donation drive or a packing event, there is an array of ways we collaborate with groups that want to make a difference. We are happy to work with each group to tailor the event to suit our mutual needs! Volunteer service days can be held at your location or at the MSP offices.
There is no volunteer training required for corporate or community events. An MSP staff person will be present to share information about our work and answer participants’ questions.
