Programmatic Volunteer Opportunities

My Sisters’ Place’s unique volunteer programs offer individuals, community groups and corporations an opportunity to make a difference.

Our Programmatic Volunteer Opportunities allow volunteer advocates to utilize their professional expertise and skills to educate clients and support staff. These opportunities can be performed in a hybrid model; over zoom (camera optional) or in-person at MSP locations during and outside of regular business hours.

Programmatic Volunteers must participate in a mandatory 2-hour training that prepare volunteers for their roles. Attendance in additional trainings and meetings is encouraged and will occur on an ad hoc basis.

Volunteers in this role will be leaders in educating and providing support in areas such as:

Contact volunteer@mspny.org for more information and to discuss our volunteer initiatives.

Additional Opportunities:

Corporate, Community Groups, Faith-Based Groups, Scouting and School Projects:

Our strong partnerships with corporate and community groups support both MSP clients and team building efforts. Whether it is a donation drive or a packing event, there is an array of ways we collaborate with groups that want to make a difference. We are happy to work with each group to tailor the event to suit our mutual needs! Volunteer service days can be held at your location or at the MSP offices.

There is no volunteer training required for corporate or community events. An MSP staff person will be present to share information about our work and answer participants’ questions.

Internships:

My Sisters' Place offers a limited number of internships each year to high school seniors who participate in Westchester’s “Senior Options” program as well as to college students during the summer.

Internship projects may include conducting research, helping to organize our in-kind donations, supporting our education and prevention team, and assisting with corporate and community volunteer events.
